I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce you to Ahava Baptist Church. We would love for you to be a regular part of what God is doing here at Ahava. Our church name, Ahava, comes from Ezra 8:21. It is a great indicator of who we are and what we desire.
First, as God's people, Christ Himself is the very life of this church. Everything in this body of believers revolves around Him. This church is His church. Christ is recognized as Lord here. He is the Alpha and Omega of our lives. He is our Savior, our Redeemer, our Master, our King. We are a group of people who have believed upon Christ, love Christ, follow Christ, obey Christ, and serve Christ. We are all about Christ.
As a church family, we hold in common our Lord Jesus Christ. His spiritual life pulsates through our body. His truth and love knits our hearts together. Despite our many differences of family background, education, social standing, and personality, we are one in Christ.
We are Baptists by conviction, a people who stand in a great line of people who have gone before us. As with our forefathers, we believe in the full inspiration and authority of Scripture, salvation by grace alone, the baptism of believers only by immersion, the priesthood of believers, the eternal security of the redeemed, and more. These God exalting truths mark our identity.
We are a church. The word "church" means "called out ones." We are those who have been called out of darkness by the power of God into the light of His kingdom. We have been drawn by the Spirit into fellowship with Christ. We are in the world, but no longer of the world. We are the church---the called out ones.
We are a congregation of people who have been redeemed by Christ, who support one another in loving fellowship, who hold to historic Baptist tenets, and who are called out of the world to the church of God.
Is this the kind of church of which you want to be a part? If so, come visit with us and see how God leads you. If you live too far away to be a part of this fellowship, then pray and search for a church of like faith and heart near you. Until you find such a church, we hope that the sermons, articles and links you find here will help you.
